🌈 Welcome to the Colors With Chemistry Learning Platform!
✨ If you want color education that’s simple to understand but deep enough to change everything, welcome inside.
At CWC, we teach color the way stylists learn, visually, clearly, and rooted in the science of how hair color actually works, WITHOUT losing the depth that's necessary to make it all click.
Stylists come to us from all experience levels.
Some are new and just want to understand how hair color actually works. Others have been formulating through trial and error, but still feel like they're guessing. They've relied on habit, instinct, or brand manuals...and now they're ready to go deeper. They want the knowledge they need to critically think through every formula instead of repeating what worked last time.
If you have ever second guessed a formula and wished someone would just explain it clearly, we get it. You're our people. We got you!
We'll help you understand your choices, feel calmer when you formulate, and become the kind of colorist who creates consistent, predictable, creative work using any brand. If that's what you're looking for then you're in the right place!
What should you do next?
Take a look through the learning categories below, there's a learning phase for everyone at all levels! If you're not sure which phase is best for you, head to the Where Do I Start section...we'll guide you from there!
The Learning Categories
Every stylist is at a different place in their journey. These categories organize our education so you can find what you need quickly. Whether you need to go back and start from the beginning, go deeper, join in a live virtual, or just grab some visual formulating tools. If you're not sure where to begin, click ➡️ "Where Do I Start?"

⭐ The CWC Education Roadmap
Each Step Of The Journey Is Designed To Meet You Where YOU Are

Quick, easy printable tools to help you spark new ideas and see color in a whole new way. You can find them in the free resource section.
We also have a color assessment that'll help you see exactly where you're already solid and where there might be a few gaps, so you can hone in on what you actually need.
You'll find the color assessment in the "Where Do I To Start?" section.
Who's this stage for:
Stylists who want to strengthen or clarify their foundational color theory mixing skills before moving deeper into the CWC system. The beginner friendly classes aren't about your years behind the chair, they're about getting your baseline understanding of color mixing solid so the rest of the color theory feels clear, doable and NOT overwhelming.
If you're unsure whether this is your starting point, take the 2-minute color survey below, it'll help guide you.
What you'll learn:
Basic color wheel orientation
Hue, chroma, level basics
understanding what color is & how we see it
How to move color the 5 basic ways
Intro to how pH + structure influence results
Creating Neutral vs Natural
How to identify color in 3D
Learning the fiber & how pH affects it
How the hair bonds break
What gap this fills:
This level builds the essential language and understanding needed to move into formulating color with background, remaining pigment prediction, color mixing logic & mapping on the wheel, and hair color chemistry. It ensures stylists feel grounded and confident before stepping into more advanced decision-making.
What to take at this stage:
Beginner’s Bundle + free resources.
Next step after this level:
Training Your Eye With Color Mixing and/or The Foundations of Color Theory.
Who this stage is for:
Stylists who want to dig deeper into ONE specific color concept at a time without jumping into a full class. This is perfect if you want to get really solid in a single area like color mixing, natural melanin, hair color categories, color removers, or choosing the right tone. These classes are great for anyone who wants real progress but needs something that's easier to fit into their time, energy, or budget.
If you’re unsure whether this is your best starting point, take the 2-minute color survey below and it’ll help guide you.
What you’ll learn:
(depending on the class you choose)
How to train your eye with real color mixing
How natural melanin lives in the hair and why it lifts the way it does at each natural level
How to read and decipher your hair color categories
How color removers actually work and how to choose one without the overwhelm
How to choose tones with purpose using hue, chroma, background
How to think through one part of the color process deeply so you gain confidence faster
How different concepts connect to your real-life formulation choices
What gap this fills:
This stage fills the gap for stylists who want solid progress but aren’t ready for a full in-depth class. It allows you to strengthen one specific part of your color knowledge so you feel more confident, more capable, and more prepared when you eventually move into the larger classes.
What to take at this stage:
Pick the topic you want to focus on right now:
Training Your Eye With Color Mixing
Hair Color Categories
Color Removers

Choosing Your Tone Bundle
Next step after this level:
Foundations of Color Theory or Chemistry of Color, depending on what you feel ready for and what your quiz results show.
Who this stage is for:
Stylists who are ready for a deeper level of understanding and want to learn how to formulate more confidently no matter color line they use. This stage is for you if you want clear, step by step teaching that brings together what color is, how it moves, how it reacts, and how to think through the entire color process with more purpose and confidence. If you already know you want to build real skill to become a colorist and not just color hair, you're in the right place.
If you are unsure whether this is your starting point, take the 2 minute color survey below. It will guide you.
What you'll learn:
How color works in 3D space
The laws and principles behind predictable color results
How to identify hue, chroma, and level with accuracy
How melanin breaks down and how remaining pigment is created
How to map color on the wheel using Directional Color Mapping™
How lift and deposit work at
How pH and structure influence every part of the process
How to think through formulation instead of guessing
How to connect what you see, what you mix, and what will happen when you apply
What gap this fills:
The in-depth classes fill the gap for stylists who want a real, usable foundation in color theory and hair color chemistry, not surface level information. This stage gives you the understanding you need so that every decision you make behind the chair feels more clear, more purposeful, and grounded in actual principles. It takes the mystery out of formulation and helps you build confidence that sticks for a lifetime.
What to take at this stage:
The Foundations of Color Theory
The Chemistry of Color
Formulating With Purpose (2 classes above are both pre requisites for this formulating class)

Access to the CWC Community is included when you take a CWC live Zoom class. After class day, you'll be invited into the community space where you can connect, learn, and grow with others on the same path.
"I am so glad that I finally found the good way to learn about color chemistry and formulating. This was the Big Bang for me because I finally understood how things work the right way. Every information is connected, the 5 hour classes are so fun and intense, with good music by the way! I am more than happy with what I got. It opened my eyes so much and I can't wait to see what is yet to come in the Formulating with purpose! I am sure that it will blow my mind!"
"I just wanted to share a win I that I had this week because of your wonderful education, I've had a base color that I just couldn't get the right tone. Using color mapping like you taught me, I was able to get the perfect grey coverage with the right tone at the right level and it was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!! Thank you so much. You're an amazing teacher and inspiration and the value I have achieved with your classes so far has been priceless."
"Hey guys I recently purchased the beginner's bundle and I have learnt so much from it. I have been a hairdresser in Australia for over 15 years and I just wanted to really go back and just revise my basics, see if there was anything new. I found the concepts explained well and have recommended your course to other stylists as I think there's a huge amount of knowledge in there. Thank you very much. I feel the course has been good value and my knowledge has grown"
"I just finished watching the video for the first time through and can I just say, this was such an incredible video!!! So, so, informative and the way you explain things is so clear and amazing!!!! OMG I cannot wait to take more classes with you!!! I have been a stylist for 16 years, I been doing color for barely 7 years and I worked in an education based salon and I learned more from this video than from any class I've taken. Thank you. Thank you for being the educator you are and caring enough to SHARE what you know with everyone!!! I truly aspire to have the impact you just made on my career to other new stylists!!! I cannot wait to watch it through more and take my notes and have deeper clarity from the a-ha moments I had! Again thank you!!! And I so look forward to more of your videos!!!"
"OMG!! That was fantastic information! I knew nothing about it and now I do! What was explained in the class I wish I knew when I was in beauty school. They said once you know the color wheel, coloring will be great. That's how much I was taught when I was in beauty school. This class should be seen in every beauty school because I'm not the only one who doesn't understand it. I can't thank you enough for doing this class."
"Absolutely everything was amazing. I love that the screen is on both sides so we can see your body language when explaining as well as your demo screen. The teaser at the end with developers definitely has me wanting more information. It's amazing what you do for us in this industry. I'm a licensed cosmetologist who is so timid that I haven't even picked up one client do to fear of not knowing what I'm doing. I want to give my clients the best information and the best outlook on their hair. You make it seem so smooth about learning and being confident in what to do in the color world, I may even take up on a client. I'm so happy someone on a Facebook cosmetology group recommended your classes. Worth it, totally worth it. Thank you so much!"
Learn To Navigate The Wheel
Because Knowing How To Label The Wheel Is NOT The Same As Knowing How To Use It

A lot of stylists can see the color they want to create in their mind, but their formula doesn’t always actually make it. They mix what they think should work, and it still doesn’t show up on the hair.
Most stylists were taught to label the wheel… not how to really use it.
We’ll teach you how to see color movement, direction, pull, and balance, so you can direct every formula with purpose instead of guessing.
You’ll learn this through our CWC Directional Color Mapping System™ in the Foundations of Color Theory Class. It's a visual way to choose tone with purpose.
